KEY VERSE:
“And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”_ (John 5:29)
MESSAGE
Hitler’s right hand man, Heinrich Himmler was entrusted with the implementation of “The Final Solution of the Jewish Question,” and in turn, six million Jews lost their lives in the Holocaust. In the Soviet Union, Himmler’s secret police units became responsible for the deaths of another nearly two million people. Himmler left behind a legacy of terror and violence. He managed to use his position and privileges to put in place his racist views across Europe and the Soviet Union. Himmler was a true architect of terror during World War II.
He later died by apparent suicide. The passage today clarifies that death on its own does not signify finality. There is something greater than death – eternal damnation. Jesus confirmed to His audience that dead people in their graves shall still hear the voice of God when their day of resurrection comes. The judgment will be executed by none other, but the Son of God.
He will sit on the throne on the judgment day. Those who have done well shall be comforted in heaven and those who did evil and failed to repent of their deeds shall have eternal damnation. Today, we see wicked and heinous crimes being committed across the world. These showcase how evil and depraved our world has become. It appears there is no end to it. But slowly and surely, the end is near. The day of reckoning is nearer than we expect.
There will always be consequences for every wickedness perpetuated by man through all generations. God will judge the world through His Son, Jesus Christ. All acts of wickedness perpetuated by man shall receive a just recompense.
